If lately you have felt that “the days are not enough” or that you need more time to finish all your activities, you should pay special attention, because it is possible that you are not being productive enough in your daily life.
Today we want to talk to you about the GTD productivity method , which will teach you how to use your time to be more efficient, both at work and in your personal life.
What is Getting Things Done?
This method helps make it easier to store, track, and review all the tasks you have to do. This will help you free up space in your mind to produce new ideas.
The main premise of GTD is that our memory is inefficient and we need to download all our pending thoughts and ideas so that our mind clears and we concentrate easily.
How to use?
The GTD method is divided into 5 phases (Collect, process, organize, evaluate, do)
1. Collect:
Write down absolutely all the tasks you have to do. (ideas, tasks, goals, projects, places to visit)You can use a notebook or a project management app (Trello, Monday or Notion)
2. Process:
It's time to turn all your tasks into actions. In this phase you must filter and process all your tasks and ask yourself the following questions
- Can I do it in less than two minutes?
- Can I delegate it to someone on my team?
- Can I delete this information without doing anything?
- Should I save this information?
3. Organize:
Take each of the tasks and organize them by category (Home, work, etc.) and by project. Also, schedule your tasks on the calendar. On the other hand, if you have delegated a task, classify it in the “Waiting” folder or category
4. Evaluate:
Do a daily or weekly review of all your activities. You should reevaluate your activities, add new tasks, and even look for new ways to improve your system.
We recommend adding a reminder to do this step. It's very important!
5. Do:
The time has come to start working and fulfill all your activities. Carry out activities according to your calendar, priority and available time. On the other hand, avoid leaving tasks half done, so they won't accumulate and you won't have a complete mess.
Now, you can be more productive in any area of your daily life and complete your tasks efficiently.
