To get a faster answer, include your store URL, your theme name, and a screenshot of what you’re seeing. If it’s about the bar not appearing, tell us whether it’s the cart page, the cart drawer, or checkout.

What the app does

Doos Shipping Goals turns your shipping thresholds into a progress bar. Instead of a single “spend $50 for free shipping” message, you can set up to four goals — for example shipping drops to $5 at $50, to $3 at $80, and becomes free at $120 — and the shopper sees exactly how far they are from the next one.

The bar updates in real time as the cart changes, uses your store’s currency and formatting, and inherits your theme’s fonts and text color so it doesn’t look bolted on. On the Pro and Plus plans it can also suggest products that would close the gap to the next goal, with a one-click add to cart.

Setup video

A short walkthrough of the whole setup: adding the bar to the cart page, enabling it in the cart drawer, and configuring your goals.

Setting it up

Setup takes about three minutes and never touches your theme code. Everything is a native Shopify block, so uninstalling removes it cleanly with nothing left behind.

1. Add the bar to your cart page

From the app’s home screen, click Add to cart page. That opens your theme editor on the cart template with the Shipping goals bar block ready to place. Drag it where you want it — most stores put it directly above the cart items or right above the checkout button.

Then set your base shipping cost (what shipping costs before any goal is reached) and at least one goal. A goal has two numbers: the cart total the shopper needs to reach, and what shipping costs once they do. Enter 0 for free shipping.

2. Add it to your cart drawer

Most themes open a slide-out cart when a product is added, and that drawer is where shoppers actually spend their time. Click Enable drawer embed in the app to turn on the Shipping goals — Drawer app embed.

The default settings already cover Dawn and Horizon. If your theme uses a different drawer, the bar may not appear — that’s a one-setting fix, and we’ll do it for you at no cost on any plan, including Free. Just email us your store and theme name.

3. Add it to checkout (Plus plan)

On the Plus plan you can also show the bar inside checkout. Open your checkout editor, add the Doos Shipping Goals block, and drag it into place. It reads live checkout totals, so it accounts for discounts.

Checkout blocks are a Shopify Plus feature. If your store isn’t on Shopify Plus, this step doesn’t apply to you — and the Plus plan wouldn’t add anything over Pro, so stay on Pro.

Troubleshooting

These cover almost everything merchants write to us about. If none of them match, email us — we’d rather look at it than have you guess.

The bar isn’t showing up at all

Three things have to be true for the bar to render:

  1. The cart has at least one item. The bar intentionally hides on an empty cart — there’s no progress to show.
  2. At least one goal has an amount greater than zero. If every goal field is empty, there’s nothing to draw.
  3. The block is actually added. The cart page block and the drawer embed are separate — turning on one doesn’t turn on the other.

If the cart page works but the drawer doesn’t, that’s the drawer selector, not a bug. See the next item.

It works on the cart page but not in the cart drawer

Cart drawers aren’t standard across themes — each one uses its own markup, so the app needs to know where to inject the bar. The default covers Dawn and Horizon; other themes need one CSS selector changed in the app embed settings.

Email us your store URL and theme name and we’ll configure it for you, free, on any plan. It usually takes us a few minutes. You don’t need to know what a CSS selector is.

Recommended products aren’t appearing

Check these in order:

  • Your plan. Product recommendations are a Pro and Plus feature. On Free the rest of the app works, but this section stays hidden.
  • A collection is selected in the block settings. Without one there’s nothing to recommend.
  • The collection has available products. Sold-out products are filtered out automatically.
  • The shopper hasn’t already reached the final goal. Once there’s nothing left to unlock, the section hides itself — pushing more products at that point just adds friction.
The checkout bar isn’t showing

The checkout bar needs two things at once: the Plus plan in the app, and a Shopify Plus store. Shopify restricts checkout blocks to Plus — that’s a platform limit, not something the app can work around.

On every other Shopify plan the cart page and cart drawer bars work exactly the same, and those are where most of the impact is anyway.

The colors or fonts don’t match my theme

Fonts and text color are inherited from your theme on purpose, so the bar reads as part of your cart rather than an app widget. If it still looks off, you have two controls in the block settings: bar color and track color, plus a text size slider from 80% to 130%.

If you cleared a color and the bar looks wrong, set it again — a fully transparent color renders as invisible.

The goal labels overlap or look cramped

With three or four goals in a narrow space — mobile, or a cart drawer — the labels above the bar don’t all fit. The app handles this automatically: it keeps the first and last labels and hides the ones in between. The milestone dots stay on the bar, and the message underneath always tells the shopper what the next goal is.

This is expected behavior, not a display bug.

I edited a message and want the original back

Clear the field and save. An empty message field falls back to its default automatically. The defaults are listed further down this page if you’d rather copy them.

I filled in goal 2 but left goal 1 empty

That works. The app only uses goals that have an amount, and sorts them from lowest to highest — so you can fill them in any order and leave gaps.

Message text and placeholders

Every message is editable. Three placeholders get replaced with live amounts, formatted in your store’s currency:

  • [shipping] — what shipping costs at the current cart total
  • [remaining] — how much more to reach the next goal
  • [next] — what shipping will cost once they reach it

A vertical bar (|) splits a message into two lines: the first is emphasized, the second sits underneath in a lighter tone. Leave it out and the message renders as one line.

What’s included in each plan

Useful when you’re wondering why a feature isn’t showing. Both paid plans include a 7-day free trial, and you can change or cancel at any time from Shopify’s billing page — charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice.

Feature Free Pro Plus
Bar on the cart page
Bar in the cart drawer
Up to 4 shipping goals
Custom colors, messages, text size
Free drawer setup by our team

Bar inside checkout

The Plus plan only adds the checkout bar, which Shopify limits to Shopify Plus stores. If your store isn’t on Plus, Pro is the plan for you — we’d rather tell you that than take the upgrade.

Requirements and compatibility

  • Themes: any Online Store 2.0 theme. The cart page block works anywhere your theme accepts app blocks.
  • Cart drawer: works out of the box on Dawn and Horizon; other themes need one setting adjusted, which we do for free.
  • Checkout bar: Shopify Plus only, on the Plus plan.
  • Languages: English and Spanish included. All text is editable, so any language works.
  • Currency: uses your store’s currency and number formatting automatically.

Data and privacy

The app doesn’t collect, store, or process customer personal data. Cart totals are read in the shopper’s browser to draw the bar — no customer information reaches our servers. Full details in the privacy policy.

Uninstalling removes the app’s blocks from your theme. No code is left behind and no snippets need to be cleaned up manually.
